Mercer County Parks Commission proudly presents this iconic venue. The origin of Baldpate's name is one of the park's mysteries. Until the mid-20th century, the mountain was known locally as Kuser Mountain, named for the family who owned it for many decades. At the summit, the Kuser estate, called "Strawberry Hill", included a main house, lodge, and various outbuildings. For a few years in the early 1900s the family established a game farm on the mountain, raising pheasants with the assistance of an experienced gamekeeper and other local workers. Not much is known about the property for several decades. In 1986 the family sold the property to Trap Rock Industries, and in 1998 Bald Pate Mountain was acquired from TPI by Mercer County.
Offering spectacular views of the Delaware River Valley and surrounding mountainsides, Strawberry Hill Mansion offers capacity for up to 120 guests on the outside patio. Corporate events will love the setting this unique venue has to offer for retreats and team building activities. Regularly hosting birthday parties, baby and bridal showers, there's lots of possibilities for a fun DIY event. Everyone loves lawn games!
The most popular use for the space, however, remains weddings. It's truly a beautiful setting that must be seen in person to enjoy the breathtaking views and rustic mountain charm.
The Mansion's interior comfortably seats up to 40 guests. The main interior room is a climate-controlled space that provides the best area for cake display and food buffets during warmer months at larger events. Similarly, it's a cozy, warm dining space for smaller parties during cooler times.
The original library of the Mansion is located upstairs and transforms into an area for a bridal suite for pre-wedding preparations. There's also a rustic greenhouse that photographer's love to take advantage of for stunning shots. In addition to several nooks for conversation, two single stall restrooms round out that spaces available for guests to utilize.

Venue Rental Information
- A Strawberry Hill Mansion rental can take place from April through November. Unfortunately, rentals cannot be considered December through March due to the hunting schedule in the park and the venue's location with potential weather challenges. The months of May, June, September, and October book well in advance and are considered the peak dates on the calendar each year.
- The rental includes the Mansion and surrounding property, including the garden, grounds, tented outdoor patio with bistro lighting, (8) 60" round tables, (2) 8' rectangular tables, (3) 6' rectangular tables and (1) 36" round table.
- The interior of the mansion can comfortably seat up to 40 guests for an intimate cocktail party, dinner, brunch, shower or corporate event. The outdoor tented patio can host up to 120 guests. The maximum capacity for the venue is 120 guests, no exceptions per local fire code.
- Mansion rental can either be in half day or full day increments. Half day rental slots are available from 8am - 2pm or 4pm - 10pm. Full day rental is from 8am - 10pm. All decorating, set-up, and breakdown must be done within the rental time slot or additional rental and labor fees will occur. Multi-day and long weekend rentals are also available and recommended for events with a significant amount of decor, including outside rentals.
- Events must end by 10pm per Mercer County Parks Commission regulations and local noise ordinance. All guests, vendors, and staff must be out of the mansion and off the mountain by 11pm.
- This is a BYOB venue and alcohol can be served when a Chez Alice Catering Company bartender, along with a Mercer County Park Ranger, are present to oversee the entirety of the event. Alcohol cannot be consumed until both mentioned parties are present and service terminated at any time at the discretion of the Park Ranger and HHG management.
- The main parking lot is located across from the mansion's main entrance, with a capacity of approximately 25 cars. It's advisable for large events to accommodate people with mobility issues, elderly, or families here. Overflow parking is located in the field behind the main parking lot and can accommodate approximately 100 vehicles.
- Large buses are not permitted on Baldpate Mountain. Passenger shuttle vans with seating of 16 people or less are allowed.
- The property may be utilized for a wedding ceremony only, ceremony with reception to follow, or reception only. The Ceremony Fee is $1,000 and includes set-up and break-down of white padded garden chairs as well as non-alcoholic refreshments. The park is open to the public dawn to dusk without fee for photography only, however, to guarantee availability the space would have to be rented as if a ceremony was taking place.
