Mercer County Parks Commission proudly presents this iconic venue. The origin of Baldpate's name is one of the park's mysteries. Until the mid-20th century, the mountain was known locally as Kuser Mountain, named for the family who owned it for many decades. At the summit, the Kuser estate, called "Strawberry Hill", included a main house, lodge, and various outbuildings. For a few years in the early 1900s the family established a game farm on the mountain, raising pheasants with the assistance of an experienced gamekeeper and other local workers. Not much is known about the property for several decades. In 1986 the family sold the property to Trap Rock Industries, and in 1998 Bald Pate Mountain was acquired from TPI by Mercer County.
Offering beautiful views of the Delaware River Valley and surrounding mountainsides, Strawberry Hill Mansion offers seating for 40 guests inside and 120 guests on the outside patio. An exclusive venue for Chez Alice Catering Company of Harvest Hospitality Group, the venue books quickly during the peak season of April - October. Corporate events will love the setting this unique venue has to offer for retreats, team building activities and meetings. Regularly hosting birthday parties, baby and bridal showers, there's lots of possibilities for a fun DIY event. The most popular use for the space, however, remains weddings. It's truly a beautiful setting that must be seen in person to enjoy the breathtaking views and rustic mountain charm.
The mansion's interior comfortably seats up to 40 guests. The main interior room's air conditioned space provides the best area for cake display and food buffets during warmer months at larger events and a cozy, warm dining space for smaller parties during cooler times.
Strawberry Hill also features an upstairs bridal suite for pre-wedding preparations, a greenhouse, private on-site parking, handicapped access, and two single stall restrooms. Additional restrooms located nearby in a separate building on property.
The mansion provides a perfect opportunity for a committed DIYer to make it their own space for the day. From a rustic elegant farm wedding, to a cool Havana night club, or a sophisticated mid-century cocktail reception - there are so many ways to celebrate!
The beauty of our partnership with Strawberry Hill Mansion is we can make your event totally customized. Our chefs and staff have experience with many different types of cuisine and can accommodate dietary needs and restrictions. Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and everything else in-between. Your menu can have something for everyone.
In addition to our flexibility in the kitchen, Strawberry Hill Mansion is the perfect place to host many different types of events due to its layout. Traditional plated dinners are just the tip of the event planning iceberg. Tea parties, continuous cocktail receptions, stations, and buffets offer options for the planner to make the event a memorable one. Keeping guests moving and interacting as they move from room to room, or from indoors to the tented outdoor patio lend so many opportunities for a creative and personalized party.
As mentioned earlier, Strawberry Hill was once a private residence. Its original layout and features have been preserved to highlight the early 20th century charm of this mountain estate. With that being said, we've curated menu packages that enable our chefs and staff to execute events utilizing the kitchen and resources available to us. Our event coordinators will provide expertise in set-up and timing for dining and celebrating during the evening. Should you have a special request or desiring something not on our menus, we would gladly discuss any ideas and provide you with a quote if we determine it's a possibility.

Venue Rental Information
- Strawberry Hill Mansion can be rented from April through mid-November weather permitting. The months of May-June and September-October book in advance very quickly. We do not consider rentals December through March due to the venue's location and weather challenges.
- Indoors, the mansion can comfortably sit up to 40 guests. The outdoor tented patio can seat up to 120 guests.
Max capacity is 120 guests, no exceptions.
- Mansion rental can either be in half day or full day increments. Half day rental slots available from 8am-2pm or 4pm-10pm. Full day rental is from 8am - 10pm. Your rental is for the time slot allotted. All decorating, set-up, and breakdown must be done within the rental time slot or additional rental and labor fees will occur.
- All events must end by 10pm. All guests and staff must be out of the mansion and off the mountain by 11pm.
- Your rental includes the outdoor patio tents and bistro lights, (8) 60" round tables, (4) 8' rectangular tables, and (120) plastic folding chairs, polyester linens, flatware, glassware, and china.. All other rentals including tent sides, heaters, additional tables, additional chairs, specialty china, glassware, and flatware are not included and must be rented separately at an additional cost.
- Alcohol is permitted, however a bartender must be on-site to serve along with a Mercer County park ranger to oversee the entirety of the event. Alcohol cannot be consumed until both mentioned parties are present.
- Main parking is located across from the mansion's main entrance, however max capacity is approximately 25 cars. It's advisable for large events to accommodate people with mobility issues, elderly, or families here. Overflow parking is located in the field behind the main parking lot.
- Large buses are not permitted on Baldpate Mountain. Passenger shuttle vans with seating of 16 people or less are allowed.
